THE LINE

Six animators. One studio in east London. A need to make animation nobody else was making. That was 2013 and THE LINE hasn’t stopped since.

James Duveen began his career as a 2D animator, spending a decade working across a range of projects including Sylvain Chomet’s acclaimed feature The Illusionist and Red Carpet Rampage, THE LINE‘s very first game.

In 2017 he made the move into business development, and today serves as Founding Partner and Managing Director at THE LINE Entertainment, where he oversees development across feature film, series and games; including the studio’s highly anticipated upcoming title Deaths of Peck, with a playable prototype already available on Steam.

James will be joined on stage by his colleague Juanpe Arroyo for a joint presentation on one of the most exciting creative crossroads in the industry today.

Talk: The Intersection Between Animation and Games

Where does animation end and games begin? James and Juanpe explore the creative and strategic crossroads between two worlds that have more in common than you might think, drawing on their unique experience of having lived and worked on both sides.
